My wall works explore surface as landscape.

Composed of individually hand-built stoneware elements, they develop through relief, rhythm, repetition and variation. Their forms emerge from sensations and impressions held in memory: a sense of scale, a movement, a fracture, a texture, or a trace left by water and time.

Rather than reproducing a landscape, I seek to transform something of its experience into matter. Forms are simplified, shifted and reinterpreted until a territory of their own begins to emerge.

Light plays an essential role. As it reveals or softens certain reliefs, the surface evolves throughout the day. The perception of the work also changes with distance and the movement of the viewer.

Each wall work is conceived as a surface in transformation, somewhere between landscape, matter and abstraction.
