Artworks conceived in dialogue with space
I create bespoke ceramic wall works and sculptural pieces for residential, hospitality and interior projects.
Each project begins with a dialogue between my artistic language and the space for which the work is intended. Architecture, volume, light, materials and the lines of the space all become part of the development of the piece.
Rather than simply adapting an existing work, each commission is conceived as a singular composition while remaining rooted in my artistic approach and visual language.
Dimensions, rhythm, relief, composition, clay and surface treatments can be developed in response to the project. Samples or preliminary studies may be created when required.
A relationship with architecture
Relief is central to my work. Light reveals the surface differently throughout the day, while the perception of the piece evolves with distance and movement through the space.
At a larger scale, this relationship becomes particularly significant: the artwork is no longer experienced only as a frontal surface, but becomes part of the experience of the place itself.
The process
Each project begins with a conversation about the space, its dimensions and its context.
From these elements, I develop a proposal outlining the composition, dimensions, materials and intended finishes. Once the project is approved, each element is shaped by hand in my studio before drying and firing.
Depending on the nature of the project, the work may be mounted on a support or integrated directly into the architecture.
