Black chamotte stoneware on wood panel
In Fragmtented landscape III, Audrey Vo Van composes a telluric landscape where matter seems to breathe, to split, to contract under the quiet pressure of inner tension. The dark clay surfaces unfold like geological strata after an upheaval : each fracture becoming a line of memory. Smooth, almost silken areas meet rough, granular textures, revealing the dialogue between opposing forces: compression and erosion, continuity and rupture.
Pale mineral fragments punctuate the darkness like traces of a vanished collapse : remnants of light fossilized in the clay. The work speaks in the language of time, of scars and transformations, of what endures beneath the surface.
Neither decorative nor dramatic, Fragmented landscape III invites a geological contemplation of silence : a meditation on how fracture can become form, and how matter, in its quiet persistence, turns vulnerability into relief.
