Whisper of the Earth (II)
Whisper of the Earth (II)
The Whisper of the Earth collection began with a simple, almost meditative gesture: Audrey Vo Van pressing a smooth river stone into damp clay.
She had found the stone during a solitary walk along the Lez - the river that flows close to her studio - captivated by its timeworn surface. This stone was soft, yet marked by flow. Back in her studio in Prades-le-Lez in the south of France, she let that imprint become a language.
Shaping each piece slowly by hand using the coil-building technique, she allowed the form to emerge with intention and rhythm.
Each work in the collection carries this quiet dialogue between hand, stone, and earth - a tactile trace of the landscape, translated into form. It is less about shaping than about listening - to texture, to silence, to what clay remembers.
